History
Originally known as the Motor Coach Court, the Travelodge® brand pioneered economy lodging in 1939, when it first opened its doors in San Diego, California. For over half a century, the brand has focused on providing value-conscious travelers comfortable accommodations and friendly service.Since its acquisition by HFS (now Wyndham Hotel Group) in 1996, the chain has grown to nearly 500 properties throughout North America.
